RFP for an Economic Impact Study of the Empire State Trail

Parks & Trails New York is seeking a qualified consultant to develop a report that captures the Empire State Trail's economic contributions to New York State and the communities it traverses, drawing from a robust set of data sources across multiple sectors, including tourism, public health, small business development, construction, housing, and transportation.

The report will build upon the findings from PTNY’s 2014 study of the Economic Impact of the Erie Canalway Trail and our 2024 study of the Economic Impact of the New York State Park system to quantify the impact of the nation’s longest statewide multi-use trail.

Interested parties should confirm intent to submit a proposal via email to dcarey@ptny.org by June 20, 2025. That email need not be a full submission but rather will ensure that all interested parties receive the answers to any questions submitted regarding clarification of the RFP (see below). Questions regarding clarification of the RFP must be submitted by email to me by July 1, 2025. PTNY’s response(s) will be provided to all interested parties. Proposals are due via email to dcarey@ptny.org no later than 5:00 PM on July 21, 2025.
