Welcome to New Arthur Savage Intern

Erica Schneider has joined Parks & Trails New York as our 2020 Arthur V. Savage Intern.

Originally from northern Virginia, Erica grew up cycling on the W&OD trail, located just minutes from her home. While receiving her B.A. in Linguistics from the College of William and Mary, she discovered a love for cycling on the country roads and multi-use trails of southeastern Virginia and developed a passion for expanding access to green spaces and trails.

After graduating, Erica taught English in northern Spain, where she explored and was inspired by cross-country trails such as the Camino de Santiago. Sustainability in all forms is important to her, and she's spent time learning about sustainable agriculture and tourism on farms in California and Spain.

New to New York's Capital Region, Erica is already busy exploring the state’s incredible system of parks and trails on foot and by bike. When not working or exploring, she loves to play Ultimate Frisbee, hang up a hammock in the park and read, and cook for her roommates.

With experience in event planning and trail infrastructure research, Erica is a welcome addition to the Parks & Trails New York staff.
