Join the Green Scarf Brigade for Park Advocacy Day

Join us on March 4, 2019 for Park Advocacy Day in Albany. This is a time to let your voice be heard by state legislators about the importance of continued support for the revitalization of our parks system.

In 2019 we are supporting the proposed increase for the Park and Trail Partnership Program to $1 million, which will enable state park and DEC Friends groups to expand their impact and strengthen the state’s outdoor heritage of public-private partnership.Your efforts will impact legislators as they make important decisions about parks.

We encourage all supporters to get involved. No experience is necessary, just a passion for parks! You will spend your morning learning about the issues and listening to park champions from across the state. You will work as part of a team with an experienced leader during the afternoon when you will visit with policymakers.

We know that speaking up can be intimidating, and we will ensure that you feel confident and prepared to advocate for parks as a vital asset to our communities. Park Advocacy Day is also fun and exciting experience with a chance to meet park supporters from around New York! You'll also get to know community leaders, conservationists and other leading advocacy group members.
