Rider Reviews & Trail Travelers
Each year, thousands of riders pedal a portion of the Erie Canalway Trail. Many take a short trek for daily exercise; others plan a vacation, cycling through the canal's small towns, visiting artisan shops, unique restaurants and quaint inns and B&Bs along the way. History buffs retrace America's longest man-made waterway.
Others cycle the entire trail, fulfilling a dream of crossing the great state of New York on two wheels. For many, it is part of a longer journey across the United States. No matter how many miles you travel, there are always new adventures to discover.

I give the overall experience an A+, 10+, 2 thumbs up. From the breakfasts, dinners, rest stop snacks, it (2015 Cycle the Erie Canal Tour) was all healthy and plentiful from the wine from day one to the last day end of tour celebration. This was my husband's and I first ride but definitely not our last. I would highly recommend this ride to anyone looking for not only an adventurous vacation but one where you support a great cause and feel "accomplished" at the end of the ride. Kodos to all the young riders as they inspire me, especially when I felt tired......
Make this ride part of your vacation in 2016!!
Rachel and Mike
Drove to Syracuse and had a shuttle operator take them and their bikes to Buffalo. Then they biked back slowly stopping for treats and B&B's along the way (a bakery in Brockport and lunch at Dinosaur BBQ in Rochester).
Pat and Michele
These siblings arrived at the Erie Canalway trail by riding across the country. He came from Tucson and she rode from Seattle. They were on their way to Boston and then Maine.
Chris and Matt
Chris and Matt pedaled on a two-month, 3,910-mile journey across the U.S. from San Francisco to Boston, a portion of which involved cycling along the Erie Canal. Read about their experience.
Frank
This gentleman "Frank" was riding the Erie Canal Towpath west through the state: "Montana or Bust". He was kind enough to have his photo taken by Chris O'Neil who was out for her bicycle ride too. ~ At Kirkville N.Y.
