We are pleased to announce the release of our new Cycle the Canalway Trail Interactive Map!
T
he Cycle the Canalway Trail map is a powerful tool for planning a trip, tracking your progress while on the trail, or helping you find trail amenities and destinations. From Buffalo to Albany and Waterford to Whitehall, all trail segments, on-road connections, and temporary trail detours are indicated on the map.
The Erie Canalway Trail runs 360 miles east/west between Albany and Buffalo. The trail is about 85% on off-road trails, separated from traffic. The Champlain Canalway Trail runs 62 miles north/south from Waterford to Whitehall and is currently about 28% off road. Both trails follow their namesake historic canals and connect charming canalside communities. Both trails are part of the statewide, 750-mile Empire State Trail, which runs from NYC to the Canadian border and Albany to Buffalo.
